We are very grateful to Agriculture Victoria and its Partnership against Pests program for providing funds to establish our website. The funding received is part of a broader overall project that includes over 15 different events, training, employing a project officer and engagement with the Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people.
Partnership against Pests is an initiative of Agriculture Victoria to incorporate a community led approach to building knowledge and capacity as part of Victoria’s Biosecurity Strategy.
The first of the events was the presentation and workshop for Weed Management Plans and we will be having many more.
Upcoming events to be held this year include:
- Blackberry control information day
- Gorse control information day
- Rabbit control demonstration field day
We will be sharing details of times and locations in the events section of the website.
In the New Year we will have session on identification and control, pest animal information days and we will even be setting up stands at Wallan and Whittlesea Markets sharing information and building our networks in the community.
All of the events will be open to anyone interested in taking action to control pest plants and animals.
Thanks to Marta and the team at Think Local Digital for getting the site up and going.
If you have any questions about the project contact Michael Watson.
