As part of our Partnership Against Pests program we attended the Wallan Market on the 14th March. We didn’t have any items for sale but we had plenty of good conversations on weed and pest management, nest boxes, planting days as well as some of the environmental projects that are gaining traction in our area, specifically the proposed wallan wallan Regional Park and the Bald Hill to Merri Creek Master Plan.

Perhaps the most successful part of our market days are finding new members who are keen to get involved. We have new members who have studied environmental science and others who bring skills such as graphic design, drone piloting and software development. With the work we do all of these skills and knowledge can help the cause of restoring our natural environment, weed and pest management and helping create habitiat for native wildlife. We always welcome those who want to get their hands dirty with tree planting or weed control.

We will be back in April, we will have indigenous plants, stakes and guards, weed and pest management brochures, as well as being available for a friendly chat.

See below for the list of plants we will have on offer
